PEDIATRIC HOME SERVICE ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF DR. JAMES E. SHMERLING TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

St. Paul, MN – February 13, 2019 – Pediatric Home Service (“PHS”), an independent comprehensive home care provider specializing in the provision of services to critically fragile children, today announced the appointment of new board member Dr. James E. Shmerling, DHA, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Shmerling as our newest board member,” said Mark Hamman, Pediatric Home Service Chief Executive Officer. “For over thirty years, Jim has served in numerous management roles in children’s hospitals and he is nationally recognized as a leader in addressing issues concerning children’s health and wellness.  We are confident Jim’s expertise in children’s health will be of great valueto our team as we continue to identify opportunities that will allow us to further serve children with medical complexities and their families.”

Dr. Shmerling is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE).  He is an adjunct faculty member in the Hospital Administration programs, University of Alabama at Birmingham.
