St. Paul, MN – June 19, 2019 – Pediatric Home Service (PHS), an independent comprehensive home care provider specializing in the care of children with medical complexities, today announced the appointment of new board member, Erik Paulsen, former representative for Minnesota’s 3rdCongressional Districtin the United States House of Representatives.
“We are thrilled to welcome Erik as our newest board member,” said Cameo Zehnder,PHS Chief Executive Officer. “Erik’s experience and leadership on health care while serving in Congress and in the Minnesota House will be a strong complement to our Board, and a welcomed asset to our team at PHS.”
Zehnder added that his expertise will be a great contributionas PHS works to establish a formalized pediatric center of excellence to ensure that children with medical complexities receive the specialized care they deserve in their homes and communities.
“Understanding our national health policies and working alongside our lawmakers is essential to enhancing healthcare for the population we serve,” said Zehnder.
Paulsen represented Minnesota’s 3rdCongressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2009 to 2019. He served as Chairman of the Bicameral Joint Economic Committee, was a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means, including the Health Subcommittee, and also was co-chair of the House Medical Technology Caucus. Paulsen also served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1995 to 2009 and was majority leader from 2003 to 2007. During his time in the Minnesota House of Representatives he served on the Commerce and Labor, Rules and Legislative Administration, Taxes and Ways and Means committees.
